Setup and documentation for the Cephable for Zoom connector — connect your Zoom account to the Cephable desktop app to search meetings, read cloud recordings, and work with Zoom Docs, with your data kept on your device.

Cephable for Zoom connects to your Zoom account so you can search meetings, access recordings and assets, and work with Zoom Docs directly from Cephable — using your own Zoom permissions, with your data kept on your device.

What this integration does

Once connected, Cephable can, on your behalf:

  • Search and view your Zoom meetings and their assets
  • List and read your Zoom cloud recordings
  • Create and read Zoom Docs
  • Search across your Zoom Meetings, Chat, and Docs

Cephable acts only as you, sees only what your Zoom account already has access to, and only after you explicitly authorize it.

Prerequisites

  • A Zoom account (you sign in during the connection step below)
  • The Cephable desktop application
  • Some features — such as semantic meeting search and AI-generated summaries — depend on Zoom AI Companion features being enabled on your Zoom account or plan

How to install and connect

  1. Download and sign in to Cephable. Install the Cephable desktop app and sign in to your Cephable account.
  2. Open Extensions. In Cephable, navigate to Extensions.
  3. Select Connectors. Choose Connectors from the Extensions area.
  4. Install Zoom. Find Zoom in the connector list and click Install Zoom.
  5. Connect. Click Connect. Your browser opens Zoom's secure sign-in and authorization page. Review the permissions and approve to continue. You'll be returned to Cephable automatically.
  6. Select your tools. Choose which Zoom tools you want Cephable to use. You can change these at any time.

That's it — Cephable is now connected to your Zoom account.

Permissions Cephable requests

Cephable requests only the access needed for the features above. All are read-only except creating a Zoom Doc, which happens only when you ask.

Permission Access Used for
Meetings and meeting assets Read Searching and viewing your meetings and their assets
Cloud recordings Read Listing and reading your cloud recordings
Zoom Docs Read and create Reading your Docs, and creating a Doc when you ask for one
Meetings, Chat, and Docs search Read Searching across your Zoom content

Cephable does not request administrative access, and does not use your Zoom data for advertising or model training.

Privacy and your data

Cephable connects using Zoom's official authorization flow. Your Zoom content and access tokens stay on your device — they are not routed through, processed by, or stored on Cephable's servers. All communication uses encryption in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher).

For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

How to remove or disconnect Cephable from Zoom

You can revoke Cephable's access to your Zoom account at any time, using either method below.

From Cephable

  1. Open Extensions → Connectors.
  2. Select Zoom.
  3. Click Disconnect (or Uninstall). This removes Cephable's access and deletes the stored Zoom tokens from your device.

From Zoom

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace at marketplace.zoom.us.
  2. Click Manage → Added Apps, or search for the Cephable app.
  3. Click the Cephable app, then click Remove.
  4. Confirm removal.

When you remove the app, Zoom notifies Cephable and any stored authorization for your account is revoked and deleted. No further Zoom access is possible unless you reconnect.
